The VF Unicast Streaming Server enables unicast distribution of live and playback channels from the furnace. VF USS is
designed to extend your multicast sessions to “unicast only” networks, VPNs and the Internet. The VF Unicast Streaming
Server serves an unlimited number of streams, via the Gigabit network interface, bounded only by the server network
interface and the overall network capacity. With “NIC bonding” you can increase available network capacity or provide
network redundancy when supported by your network. The Unicast Streaming Server data ports, if configured to comply
with your enterprise IT policy, can eliminate the need for special ACL/Firewall rules. The Server provides a simple “click and
watch” launch portal and an intuitive viewing experience enabled by the InStream™ player, eliminating the need for preinstalled
players on end-user desktops. The same familiar InStream™ viewing experience is maintained when viewing
unicast streams.
The VF Unicast Streaming Server arrives pre-configured with your initial network settings. Simply place
it in the rack, connect the network cable to the Gigabit switch port, apply power, then enter the IP address or DNS name into
a Web browser and launch the InStream™ player to watch the live stream(s) via unicast.
