The LINK 1154 is designed to take any serial digital video signal with or without encoded EDH data and distribute it into 8 serial digital video signals. It has the ability to insert new EDH data as well as passing current EDH data. Further, old EDH data can be reset and reinserted back into the data stream. Also, it has front panel led indication of video standard, and EDH errors of the incoming signal.
The 1154 is a versatile serial distribution amplifier that also functions as digital video Error Detection and Handling (EDH) check word analyzer and encoder. As a distribution amplifier it provides eight re-clocked and equalized outputs.
As an EDH device, the 1154 can detect errors on signals that contain EDH information or insert EDH onto signals that do not contain EDH data. The 1154 will operate with component serial digital 270 Mb/s standard.
The 1154 is an alternative device to laboratory analyzers for monitoring EDH in serial links for loss of data. The unit also provides means to insert EDH check words into serial video links.
The 1154 provides a set of analysis functions on the front card edge. EDH encoding on the output signal can be turned on or off and the input and status are shown by a series of LED’s. The LED’s show an error of EDH faults.
