VIDEO FOR CHURCHES Video equipment in a church has become a technological necessity. Video equipment can be used to record sermons, choir concerts, and special messages given by guest speakers. If members miss a Sunday, recordings will allow them to watch the worship service on video at a later date. Congregations may want to use video equipment to stream services live on the web or air services on local television channels. Video equipment can also be used to distribute the service live into other areas of the building. This is particularly useful for overflow areas when the main church hall is full or for members in the nursery. Within the main church hall, video can be distributed to monitors mounted throughout the hall so that everyone has an excellent view of the worship service, regardless of where they are sitting.

Go Electronic carries a selection of video equipment perfect for use in worship facilities. We have helped design hundreds of customized church video packages and are well experienced with the different needs and goals of House of Worship video systems. The Sony PTZ camera (our recommended standard definition cameras) or the GOHD400 (our recommended High Definition PTZ Camera), offer pan-tilt-zoom functionality which allows for complete hall coverage. Combined with an RCC4000, RM-BR300 or Telemetrics joystick camera controller, one or more cameras can be easily controlled by one person. The cameras offer PTZ preset ability so at the touch of a button, the camera operator can change the direction of a camera to zoom in on the pulpit, zoom out on the choir, etc.

Putting together a video system for your church is an involved process and each system is different. To begin the process, here are a few questions you should ask yourself:
- What are you trying to accomplish with your video system?
Record/archive, stream online, and/or distribute to in-house screens or overflow areas
- Are you interested in a standard definition or high definition video system?
High definition video has taken over and is now expected by most people when it comes to video quality. However, for some, a high definition video system for a church is cost prohibitive.
- How many cameras will you need?
The size of the facility and the size of your budget will help determine the number of cameras you will need. With the pan, tilt and zoom functions of the GOHD400 cameras, a one-camera system for a church may be satisfactory. The use of more than one camera requires the additional need for a video selector/mixer.
- Do you have existing equipment to incorporate?
- What is your budget?
