The unit supplies DC power and transmits video and sync signals with the use of CCZ-A and CCMC-3MZ cables (which are sold separately).
The CMA-D3 plugs into standard household 120-volt current and converts to 12-volt DC for the camera's operation. It will also run between the camera and the RM-C950 remote camera function control unit. Long power cable runs up to about 300 feet (100 meters) is possible with the CCDC-100A cable.
The CMA-D3 does more than just supply the correct voltage to run the camera. From the camera's 12-pin input for power, the cable also returns Y/C or RGB video/data signals to the CMA-D3. It can then output video/data to monitor or recorder. A remote controller, the RM-C950, through RS-232C control protocol, can provide camera control including lens zoom, focus and iris control. Picture-look features can also be accessed with the controller.
